To celebrate both the launch of this exciting new book 'Stations of the Cross' by award-winning novelist Sara Maitland (Bloomsbury, London & New York 2009) --- inspired by and featuring Chris Gollon's critically-acclaimed 'Fourteen Stations of the Cross' --- and also the permanent installation of the Stations in an historic London church, IAP Fine Art created a unique Collectors' Edition. IAP Fine Art agreed with both Sara Maitland and Chris Gollon that there will only ever be 100 of the books signed by them both and numbered 1/100 - 100/100. To go with these in a Special Collectors' Edition, IAP Fine Art then published with Chris Gollon, and master printmakers Ian & Jan Wilkinson at the Goldmark Atelier, a simple hand-drawn and hand-printed A4-size silk-screen print 'Crucifixion', in an edition of only 100. The signed books and signed silk-screen prints are packaged together as shown, or we can quote to frame the silk-screen print if required, in either a black of an off-white bespoke frame.
Sara Maitland's book was the first publication to reproduce all 14 Stations of the Cross by Chris Gollon. The silk-screen print which Chris Gollon produced is a hauntingly simple, powerful and moving single-line image of the Crucifixion on a coloured ground, with the eclipse hinted at by both sun and moon.
