From 2014 - 2016, IAP Fine Art had the privilege of curating ‘Incarnation, Mary and Women from the Bible’, Chris Gollon’s national touring exhibition to English cathedrals. In October 2016, it came to the beautiful Grade I listed Romsey Abbey, in Hampshire. The Abbey is a favourite of HM The Queen and is home to the tomb of Lord Mountbatten, since his family home Broadlands is close by. For the 2016 exhibition, Chris Gollon decided to paint a site-specific diptych of 'St Ethelflaeda’, the Abbey’s tenth century abbess and patron saint. In 2018, a year after Chris Gollon’s untimely death, the diptych was purchased by the Abbey and subsequently permanently installed, where it remains for visitors to enjoy.
IAP Fine Art also published a fine art catalogue in association with the Abbey, entitled St Ethelflaeda, featuring studies by Chris Gollon for the final work, as well as a texts by Sara Maitland, Tamsin Pickeral and Mark Byford. Available here: Gallery Shop.
