Completed in 2012, this painting was originally inspired by Millais’ ‘Christ in the House of His Parents’ when Jesus as a boy has a stigmata-like wound on his hand in his father’s workshop. After conversations in 2013 with Canon Librarian Dr Peter Doll at Norwich Cathedral, about how Mary had been viewed as a second Eve, Chris  decided to add his ‘Madonna of the Apple’ to the exhibition.
